Topic: The New Royal Alberta Museum –Building Information Modeling for the Life Cycle of the Facility

The Royal Alberta Museum was designed with Building Information Modeling (BIM), built with BIM, but when those contracts were signed, no one knew the power of BIM for Facility Management (FM). Through great effort and patience, completing the BIM for FM model was achieved, and is now being integrated into the FM practice as a pilot for Alberta Infrastructure (AI). Moving forward, most new AI projects will and have adopted this practice. AI has integrated that wealth of data into the Facilities Management model which will be demonstrated during this presentation.
