TOPIC: Stress Management for Project Managers
What causes stress for you and others when you’re managing complex projects? What are some actions you can take to reduce stress and increase focus, hence make your projects even more successful? We will discuss some of the causes of stress when leading projects and teams and practice a few stress busting activities that you can easily do to lead through your projects with a greater sense of calm and ease.
SPEAKERS
Marguerite LeBlanc, President, The Leaders’ Kitchen
Marguerite completed the Masters of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She holds the Professional Certified Coach designation from the International Coach Federation and has completed more than 1600 hours of individual and team coaching. She also holds the PMP and CMA,CPA designations. Her research has focused on high performing teams and organizations. Marguerite was the Director of the Mentoring Program for PMINAC from 2011 to 2014.
Through her education and experience Marguerite has learned that self-leadership is at the core of leading others and leading through change. Marguerite’s work has focused on helping people to get clear on what they want in their organizations and for themselves through the work that they are doing. She is also known for taking a calm and focused approach to getting there. One of her teams was awarded the Best Team Award from Venture Alberta.
Corby Furrow, Founder and CEO, Radiant Core Solutions
Corby holds the Certified Executive Coach designation from Royal Roads University and the international accreditation as an Advance Emotional Freedoms Technique (EFT) Practitioner. She also holds her Chartered Professional of Human Resources designation and has seen first hand the challenges people face within organizations and complex projects. Her work has focused on helping leaders, business professionals and entrepreneurs to get real with where they are, where they want to be, the gap, and steps to get there. Real progress and sustainable change can only happen once people know the gap.
Anxiety, stress, and burnout are becoming more prevalent in the workplace where it’s all too common to do more with less. Corby believes that it is crucial that leaders learn how to better navigate their stress to lead others more productively. Corby creates a safe space to explore how to handle the stressors and how to create a healthy work environment in order to be happier and more productive.
