PMINAC Project Manager’s Community of Practice Notice
Topic: Sharing Best Practices for Requirements Gathering / Business Analysis
Whether the PM is undertaking the requirements gathering or has a BA, there are tools and techniques that PMs should either use or ensure a BA uses. We have all seen projects go off the rails because the business requirements started and stopped with one question: "So what do you need?"
There are many options for gathering requirements, from reviews of existing processes to shadowing staff to surveys and facilitated sessions. I will share some of the tools and techniques I have used or seen successfully used and will ask everyone present to share their stories, tools and techniques.
